One-Way Traffic for Drop Off and Pick Up

  • Our one-way traffic controls are for student safety and traffic flow during recovery and reconstruction from the January 2017 fire.  The one-way traffic controls will be enforced for this school year.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps drop off and pick up go much smoother for all.
    • A.M. drop off in the 4/5/6th parking area from 7:30-8:15 a.m. is for all students.
    • No drop off by B-7, students will be walked to the crosswalk and escorted to where they need to go from the 4/5/6th area.
    • After school pick up will be in the 4/5/6th parking area only.
    • Busses will load and unload students in front of the school office.  Students will be escorted to the bus, and continuing on to the crosswalk and the pick up area at the 4/5/6 parking lot.

Construction Zone - Use Caution

  • Curtis Creek Facility Update

Royce Construction was awarded the bid for the rebuild of the A Wing. The "Notice To Proceed" was delivered this week, so construction work will begin in a few weeks. As construction begins, arrangements will be made as needed to ensure campus safety and project completion.

The students currently are in very nice educational settings in the portable classrooms. The portable classrooms have been furnished with new furniture and technology which will be transferred to the new building when it is completed. Completion of the new building could be as early as next November. The new classrooms will be built with "state of the art" quality and efficiency.

The portables are rented, so they will be returned after they are no longer needed. The portables are located on the primary playground, with a play area for the students in the middle. Modifications and ADA compliance requirements were made to the portable classroom areas. After the removal of the portable classrooms, the entire primary playground will be resurfaced and repainted leaving it better than the original state.

The new building will include nine classrooms, two staff and student restrooms, and two custodial work closets. The new building will house Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten through third grades, plus a State Preschool.

We want the library accessible to the students as soon as possible, so it will be housed in a current classroom. It too, will be housed with new furniture and we hope to open the library in early Spring.

Settling into the new building will give students and staff a sense of permanency and resilience that, as a team and community, we can get through challenging times and be stronger in the end. Curtis Creek Strong!

For public safety we ask that all visitors to campus whether during or after school hours to please use caution and respect the no entry signage on the construction fencing.  Heavy construction equipment and actvities take place behind the fencing and it is unsafe for access.  Only authorized personnel have permission to enter the area.

It is vital for your safety that you do not enter or take short cuts through the construction zone whether you are visiting campus during or after school hours.
