Welcome to Curtis Creek Preschool!

  • Curtis Creek Preschool Closed by Fire

Curtis Creek Elementary experienced a fire in the early morning of January 26, 2017.  Unfortunately, several classrooms including the preschool classroom were damaged.  Because the fire has created the need to relocate several classes, the school is unable to house the preschool program.  We have made the painful decision to close the preschool program for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year.

The preschool will remain closed for the 2017-18 school year while post-fire reconstruction occurs due to lack of appropriate facilities that meet state criteria for the preschool.  We will update this notification when we determine the status for 2018-19 school year.

Our Mission Statement

  • Curtis Creek School District Preschool Program provides comprehensive services which empower children and families to reach their fullest potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our Philosopy

  • The Curtis Creek Preschool Program strives to provide high quality services to all families enrolled.

Children learn through hands-on activities and experiences. They learn best when new experiences relate to what is familiar to them. It is our intent to build on those previous experiences by supporting the family culture of each child and retaining their ethnic identity while providing opportunities to acquire new skills through an active learning approach.

Learning is an active process. We support this theory by providing a balanced daily curriculum that includes both indoor and outdoor experiences, small and large group gatherings, as well as child initiated and teacher directed activities. Our focus includes a balance of physical activity, self help tasks, creative arts, math, science and social studies, and language and literacy opportunities.

Our approach to curriculum topics is based on the interest of the children. These interests may turn into projects which are then explored through inquiries and investigations.
