About Curtis Creek
Curtis Creek School District (CCSD) and Curtis Creek School were founded on May 16th, 1865 originally in the Sullivan Creek area of Sonora. The district encompasses the area of East Sonora, the Phoenix Lake area, and south of Highway 108 to just north of Groveland School District. After the town of Standard was formed, a new school was built in May of 1915 on Standard Road.
In 2015, Curtis Creek School District celebrated their sesquicentennial anniversary (150 years). The highlights of our celebration included activities such as "Country Fair Days at Standard," an archeological dig of the original 1913 school site, mural paintings at the school lead by local Sonora artists, and curriculum presented throughout the year, rich in Standard Township history.
Curtis Creek School District boasts an instructional program equal to none. In addition to cutting edge academic instruction, the District supports a K-8 daily Science program provided by certificated Science Teachers, a 1st-8th daily music program, and a 1st-8th Physical Education program. Be sure to check out the Athletics tab - CCSD is heavily involved with the local sports programs.
CCSD is proud to endorse a highly active "Curtis Creek Parents Club" who raise thousands yearly for the benefit of the students who attend CCSD. Curtis Creek also offers one of the few California State Pre-School programs, free of charge to eligible families.
