Thank you to those who participated in the
Transportation Survey. The results are as follows:
RESULTS of the Curtis Creek School Morning Drop- Off Procedure Survey
As you have noticed, The Safety Committee implemented a new procedure for dropping your child off in the morning. Our goal is to create the safest environment for our students. We would like your feedback by completing this survey about the new procedure.
We value your input and suggestions and would like to invite you to an open discussion about this issue. We will hold a meeting on Tuesday, May7th from 4:15-5:00 PM in B-7. Please remember that the number one priority is student safety. Return this survey by Monday, May 6 so we will be able to evaluate the data prior to the meeting.

1. You guys are trying w/ signs etc.
2. Trying new procedures.
3. The monitors are doing great.
4. Thank you
5. Student safety is becoming a high priority. This is great.
6. Trying to fix safety for students and drivers.
7. Trying to come up with a better plan. Thank you.
8. Doing your best.
9. Everything.
10. New drop off procedure.
11. I like having staff in the parking lot to ensure parents are following the new procedures.
12. ?
13. Trying new ideas and accepting feedback.
14. I like that you are trying to change something that wasn’t safe and wasn’t working.
What should we be doing better regarding student safety?
1. It would be nice to drop off4,5,6 grade kids off at top at 7:45 instead of at the bottom.
2. Mainly people don’t follow the rules so it makes it hard for the rest of us! The lady w/short grayish hair is not nice in the mornings even to those of us following the rules.
3. Have crossing guards implementing rules or directing traffic wit more authority.
4. They need to designate a permanent area for kids dropped off by buses and parents. I think they should be separate.
5. Maybe, continuing to increase the quality of safety, making sure we are doing our best.
6. Enforce pick up locations.
7. Supervision
8. Nothing.
9. Our children ride the bus so we are not aware of this program.
10. Armed security officers and teachers. To many bad things have happened this past decade. I’d really like to see teachers with security training.
11. Keep this going.
12. ?
13. We need a crossing guard from 7:50 to 8:05. I see lots of kids crossing and there are lots of cars at that time too. I feel this must happen for the bussed kids to safely get up to the 4,5,6 classes.
14. I think the school is on the right track but this idea (as you can sees above) is not the right solution. Adding some cross-walks from the lower parking lot would be helpful. Adding more people to ‘monitor’ or “police” the drop-off zone would be helpful. Not having people make u-turns or 3 point turns in the parking lot would be safer. We could all share the lower drop off zone and busses and cars could wait in line for their turn. People that don’t want to get stuck waiting could drop off their kids at the stairs and then be on their way. Or busses could only use the 4/5 yard for drop off and all cars must drop off their passengers (kids) at the lower area by the office.
15. Pick up
16. My kids use only the bus so far, so I do not have a valid opinion of the change.
17. When no one is standing there, cars drive thru even when signs are up. I’d like to see someone there monitoring if possible.
18. It would be nice to be able to drop off 4,5,6 grade students at the top before 8 AM.
